October was the month of posting rest. However, starting in November I will be returning to the world of daily (sometimes twice daily) posting.

I figure since this *is* TheEvilEmpire.com, I should get verification. Apparently I need to ramp up my evil-factor.

Have you ever been sitting somewhere, frustrated that things aren't going well, wondering why you even bother doing what you're doing, when, all of a sudden, something happens to remind you, "Hey, it is worth it."

This happened to me the other day. Over the past couple weeks I have been in the process of migrating data. I haven't been doing a lot of writing because the time that I normally devote to creating content has been spent fighting with the Berkeley DB, moveable type, and Windows Server 2003.

Needless to say, I was frustrated with the web log. In the middle of my sheer hell some stranger took the time to write a very nice comment. He let me know that he had just killed the afternoon reading my website. While this probably didn't please his employer, it sure pleased me. It gave me a second wind.

I just watched last night's episode of "The Bachelor." I have come to one of two conclusions -- either a) I am colder than the average person or b) these girls are sick, sick, sick. Forgetting that they are all convinced that Bob is their soul mate, what's the deal with all the crying? These are not friends that you've had since you were a kid. You just met these people. Why is it sooooo hard to say, "X is best/least suited to Bob's tastes?"

Who gets this worked up over people they've just met. Oh sure, I have formed "close" bonds with people over short periods of time. Of course, I was 12 and it was summer camp.

Oy!

I suppose that it is only fitting that Charla use Dave just one last time. With that said -- Holy Crap, what a bitch. Even Erin split the money (well the second million ;) ). Dave took all the lumps for their "team" and then POW.

To make matters worse, as Charla and Dave were walking away she had the nerve to make Dave reassure her that she was doing the right thing. Oy. Talk about having your cake and eating it too! Man, that sucks.
